Important Information

What is taught in the Basic EKG Interpretation Course?

After completion of this course, students will be able to 

  • Describe the heart’s conduction system

  • Understand the cardiac actions represented by the p wave, PR interval, QRS complex, and T-wave

  • Calculate heart rate from an ECG strip

  • Measure the PR, QRS, and QT intervals

  • Identify the following rhythms

    • Sinus rhythms

    • Junctional rhythms

    • Premature ventricular contractions

    • Atrial fibrillation

    • Atrial flutter

    • Atrioventricular blocks

    • Supraventricular tachycardia

    • Ventricular tachycardia

    • Ventricular fibrillation

  • List interventions associated with common dysrhythmias

Target Audience

The Basic EKG Interpretation Course is designed for healthcare providers who  have little or no knowledge of EKGs.

Student Materials

A workbook will be provided to the student as part of the course cost.

Course Completion Certificate

NurseMentor Consulting will provide a Course Completion Certificate to all attendees.

No CEUs can be awarded at this time.

Course Format

Instructor-led, in-person class. An online version will be available soon. A workbook will be provided to reinforce learning and interpretation proficiency.

Registration

  • Advanced registration is requested no later than 14 days prior to the first day of the course. Early registration is advised to allow time to receive pre- course materials. In order to achieve maximum success in all courses, pre-course preparation is essential.

  • Classes fill up quickly and will close when the maximum enrollment is reached. 

Class Length

Approximately 9 hours with breaks

Refunds, Cancellations, and Rescheduling

Due to the limited number of seats, refunds will not be given except in emergencies with documentation. You may reschedule but will only be added as a registrant if there are still seats available 10 days prior to the next scheduled course.
